On the morning of July 22, Lai Chau Provincial Police announced that they had just arrested Ha Van Liem (born in 1976, in Dong Phong ward, Lai Chau city) for illegal drug trafficking.

According to the police, Ha Van Liem, nicknamed “Liem Lap”, is a drug addict who is considered “aggressive and notorious” in the locality, has two previous convictions, and often carries a sharp knife on his side.
Although very upset, because Liem's house had many addicts gathering, the people around were afraid and no one dared to report it.
The police said that Liem had painstakingly designed the house located in the middle of a tea hill in group 28, Dong Phong ward, Lai Chau city like a "fortress" with a single entrance to easily observe people coming and going; around the house, Liem installed security cameras and especially he raised 28 fierce dogs to deal with the police.
Lai Chau City Police have coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department to develop a project to eradicate the drug trafficking point that has caused trouble in the community of Liem.

Searching the house, the police seized more than 100 grams of white powder (suspected drugs), along with 10 knives, swords, and nunchaku.
At the investigation agency, Liem admitted his crime. Lai Chau Provincial Police are continuing to expand the case.
