(Baonghean.vn) - This afternoon (August 30), Typhoon SAOLA entered the northeastern sea area of the North East Sea, becoming the 3rd typhoon of 2023.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 4 PM on August 30th, the storm's center was located...SAOLALocated at approximately 20.5 degrees North latitude and 119.8 degrees East longitude, in the northeastern part of the South China Sea. The strongest winds near the center of the typhoon are at force 15-16 (167-201 km/h), with gusts exceeding force 17, moving in a west-northwest direction at a speed of about 15 km/h.
At 4 PM on August 31st, the storm was moving in a west-northwest direction at a speed of approximately 10-15 km/h over the northeastern part of the South China Sea, about 370 km east-southeast of Hong Kong (China).
Over the next 72 to 120 hours, the storm will move mainly in a west-southwest direction, traveling 5-10 km per hour, and its intensity is likely to gradually decrease.
Due to the influence of the storm, the northeastern part of the North East Sea region will experience strong winds of force 9-10, later increasing to force 11-13, with winds near the storm's center reaching force 14-16, gusting above force 17; the sea will be extremely rough.
In the eastern part of the North East Sea region, sea waves are 4.0-6.0m high, later increasing to 8.0-10.0m.
