(Baonghean.vn) - The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense has just issued Official Dispatch No. 05/CD dated August 29, 2023 on proactively responding to storm Saola.

Accordingly, the telegram was sent to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of coastal districts and towns; Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, Information and Communications, Transport; Provincial Border Guard Command; North Central Region Hydrometeorological Station; Provincial Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper, Ben Thuy Coastal Information Station.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on August 29, storm SAOLA is active in the sea northeast of Luzon Island (Philippines). At 1:00 p.m. on August 29, the center of the storm was at about 18.8 degrees North latitude; 123.1 degrees East longitude, in the sea northeast of Luzon Island, the strongest wind near the center of the storm is level 14, gusting to level 17, moving northwest, about 5-10 km/h. The northeastern sea of ​​the North East Sea from the night of August 29 will have strong winds of level 6, from the afternoon and night of August 30 it will increase to level 7-8, the area near the center of the storm will have strong winds of level 10-11, gusting above level 14; the sea is very rough. The eastern sea of ​​the North East Sea will have waves of 3.0-3.5m high.

To proactively respond to the developments of the Storm, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Disaster Prevention and Control requests the Steering Committees for Disaster Prevention and Control and Disaster Prevention of coastal districts, cities and towns; relevant departments, branches and agencies to direct the implementation of the following contents:

1.Regularly monitor closely the storm's developments, strictly manage vessels going out to sea; organize counting, notify owners of vessels, captains of ships and boats operating at sea of ​​the location, direction of movement and developments of the storm to proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas. Dangerous areas in the next 24 hours: North of latitude 18.0N, East of longitude 118.5E; in the next 48 hours: North of latitude 18.5N, East of longitude 115.5E (dangerous areas are adjusted in forecast bulletins).

2.Ready forces and means for rescue when required.

3.Provincial Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper, Ben Thuy Coastal Information Station and mass media agencies have increased measures to inform authorities at all levels, owners of vehicles operating at sea and people about the storm's developments to proactively prevent and respond.

4.Organize the duty seriously, regularly report to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention./.
