This afternoon (September 27), implementing the Operation Order of Ban Ve Hydropower Reservoir to cut and reduce floods for downstream No. 173/BCH-PCTT of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense,Ban Ve Hydropower Companyhas regulated and reduced most of the flood into the lake in recent days.
According to information from the North Central Hydrometeorological Station on consulting on the operation of Ban Ve Hydropower Reservoir to cut and reduce floods for downstream. The water flow to Ban Ve Reservoir at 3:00 p.m. on September 27, 2023 was 1,469 m3/s.
The head of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province has ordered the Director of Ban Ve Hydropower Company to discharge water downstream with a flow rate not greater than the flood flow rate to the reservoir to cut and reduce flooding downstream. The discharge rate through the project is from 300m3/s to 800m3/s (including the discharge rate through the spillway and the power generation rate through the generator).
According to information from Ban Ve Hydropower Company, this afternoon, the unit has reduced flood discharge to 430m3/s, which means it has cut 60% of the flood, ensuring safety for the downstream area.
