(Baonghean.vn) - Huoi Co village (Nhon Mai commune, Tuong Duong district) is located on a high mountain, close to the Vietnam - Laos border. For a long time, people have had the habit of growing peach and plum around their houses and in their fields. When Tet comes, spring comes, peach and plum blossoms bloom all over the village, creating a beautiful and poetic landscape.

Photo: Quynh AnAlong with preserving ancient peach trees as a landscape highlight in the village, for many years now, Huoi Co people have also grown their own seeds to develop peach acreage in the fields. Notably, in early 2024, 18 households in the village received investment from the Commune People's Committee, supporting 250 seedlings to plant the new crop. Selling peach branches grown in the fields during Tet brings a significant source of income to the people. In 2023, the whole village earned 300 million VND from selling peach trees during Tet, mainly selling peach branches, a few households with beautiful trees sold the whole tree (each tree from 16 - 17 million VND). Not only customers in the area and neighboring areas, but also customers from Vinh City and Dien Chau City come to the fields to choose peach trees to sell or display for Tet. Normally, peach trees can be harvested after 4-5 years of planting. Mr. Vi Van Thoai (in yellow shirt), a peach trader from Tri Le commune, Que Phong district, said: I often "hunt" for both peach trees from Laos and peach branches from Huoi Co village, on average about a few dozen branches. This year, Huoi Co people's peach trees have more flowers, mainly peach traders choose to buy branches for easy selling, beautiful trees will choose to order the whole tree, the longer the peach trees are kept, the higher the price.
