After Nghe An Newspaper published the article “Warning about garbage flooding the stream in Thach Ngan (Con Cuong)” on March 14, on the following Saturday and Sunday (March 16-17), the Commune People's Committee directed branches and organizations to strengthen measures to maintain environmental hygiene at "hot spots" as well as in villages and hamlets.

At the same time, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach Ngan Commune Lo Thanh Huan also said that on March 17, the commune installed surveillance cameras and 2 light bulbs at the spillway over Nam Cai stream (called Binh Oanh spillway).

Before installing surveillance cameras, on March 14, the People's Committee of the commune directed the Women's Union of Thach Ngan commune to mobilize members, in conjunction with the Youth Union and Farmers' Association in the commune, focusing on Dong Tam village, to clean up the environment at the Nam Cai spillway.

The leader of the People's Committee of Thach Ngan commune said that the branches and organizations have just mobilized members to join hands to clean up waste in streams and creeks, and at the same time, through the results of practical actions to propagate and spread the message for a clean and beautiful environment, hoping that all people will be aware of protecting the environment not only in Dong Tam village but in all areas of the commune.

Along with the Women's Union, other associations and organizations such as the Youth Union and the Farmers' Association also join hands to promote environmental protection activities.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach Ngan Commune affirmed that installing cameras for surveillance is an effective measure to prevent people who lack awareness of littering. If discovered, the commune authorities will take measures to remind and punish. Hopefully, after taking decisive measures, the littering situation at this overflow bridge will end, restoring the cleanliness and freshness of the landscape and environment here.

Previously, the situation of littering indiscriminately in the overflow bridge area had been happening for a long time. The local government and organizations in Thach Ngan commune had repeatedly propagated to the people about environmental protection awareness, the harmful effects of waste on water resources and human health. In local meetings, this content was also reminded and suggested to be promptly remedied, but it was still not thorough.
