Vocational schools in Nghe An strive to train according to orders
(Baonghean.vn) - What vocational training to teach to match job needs is a major concern of vocational training facilities in the province.
In fact, there are many professions that used to be very hot but now tend to stagnate, on the contrary, there are professions that society is in great need of but vocational training facilities do not have enough conditions to open new ones. However, training facilities are trying to find ways to meet market demand.
Training on order
In 2022, Hong Lam College of Economics and Technology received an order from Honda Company for more than 200 jobs in Applied Information Technology. This company committed that after being trained at Hong Lam School, workers will be hired with a salary of 10 - 12 million VND, only needing skills at the level of being able to design small software or make a few modules as required.

Principal of Hong Lam College of Economics and Technology Phan Xuan Dung said: Most students trained in Applied Informatics at the school can do the job as required by the ordering party, they receive a stable salary and are guaranteed long-term employment. In the coming years, the school will continue to open this major, because in addition to orders from the old company, the school will continue to receive a few orders from other companies with similar requirements.
The principal of Hong Lam College of Economics and Technology added that in the near future, the school will open more hot professions that are in demand in the market, such as beauty care, to have a training program that meets the needs. "This is a profession that many domestic and foreign markets are in need of and we have also recruited a large number of students." - Mr. Dung said.

Not only Hong Lam is the unit that receives labor orders in a new profession and then implements training, but currently many schools are also upgrading hot professions after receiving many orders from business units. Mr. Luong Anh Tuan - Principal of Nghi Loc Economic - Technical Vocational College said: "For the profession of Culinary Processing Technology, we always have a large number of orders from hotels and restaurants. Even during the internship period, students are paid from 5 - 7 million VND/month. By the time of graduation, many units are ready to accept the whole class."
According to Mr. Tuan, Nghi Loc Economic and Technical College is planning to open new majors such as fashion sewing and Korean language, but is facing many obstacles due to the lack of permanent teachers and the lack of facilities. Mr. Tuan added: “Industrial sewing has been a hot industry in recent years, but now it is slowing down and in the coming years, the trend of students entering this industry will decrease. The school will make adjustments to the number of students enrolled and will focus on other industries.”
Currently in the province, many vocational training institutions are reviewing occupations with low enrollment to adjust the training scale; at the same time, there will be plans to open new occupations in line with employment trends. Mr. Chu Minh Loi - Principal of Bac Nghe An Economic - Technical College said: We are currently training 7 traditional occupations such as: Electricity, Refrigeration, Civil Electricity, Welding, Mechanics, Sewing, Food Processing Technology, Automotive Technology. Besides the occupations with relatively good enrollment, there are also occupations with much lower enrollment. To meet the trend, we will re-screen occupations with few students and open new occupations to meet market demand.

Or Nghe An Ethnic Boarding College also has many concerns in improving the quality of vocational skills for students in hot professions. Principal of Nghe An Ethnic Boarding College Le Anh Tuan said: "We are investing in facilities for the Welding and Automotive Technology majors so that students have the best conditions to practice in a modern working environment, meeting the requirements of this profession".
At the meeting to summarize the work of job creation and labor export, Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged: "In order for workers to have good jobs and be ready to join enterprises in the province and the country, schools and vocational training institutions must have close links, vocational training needs to be linked to the needs of the labor market. The most effective way is still to train according to the orders of enterprises to ensure that students will have jobs when they graduate". Therefore, according to the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, any school that knows how to choose the right profession that society needs will affirm its position. Instead of training what the school has, schools should catch up with training the professions that society needs.
Improve workers' skills to meet market demands
According to the report of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, in the province there are about 82-85 thousand people in need of vocational training at all levels with a total of 57 occupations. Specifically: the agricultural occupation group has a demand of 45-46.5% and the non-agricultural occupation group accounts for 53.5-55% of the vocational training demand in the whole province.

In 2023, vocational schools enrolled and trained 68,272 people, reaching 104.2% of the plan; of which, 5,080 people had college degrees, 9,934 people had intermediate degrees, 53,258 people had primary and under-3-month training, contributing to raising the rate of trained workers to 69%, of which 28.6% had diplomas and certificates; the employment rate reached 80.7%.

Training institutions have focused on and promoted signing activities with businesses to create conditions for students to practice and recruit workers. The rate of college and intermediate students who have jobs after graduation is 95%. In some professions, 100% of workers have jobs after training, with stable income, with an average income of 7-8 million VND/month such as: welding, mechanics, electricity, electronics, hotel management, automotive technology, food processing technology, construction, restaurant management.
The labor market is shifting in a better direction, reducing the proportion of labor in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector from 34.89% in 2022 to 34.63% in 2023, increasing the proportion of labor in the industry and construction sector from 32.60% in 2022 to 32.84% in 2023, increasing the proportion of labor in the service sector from 32.48% in 2022 to 32.53% in 2023. The quantity and quality of human resources are constantly being improved to ensure that they gradually meet the needs of the domestic labor market and international integration.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long affirmed: To create more high-income job opportunities for workers in the province, it is necessary to strengthen cooperation between local labor management agencies and enterprises; between vocational training institutions and enterprises, especially corporations and general companies, to sign agreements on training according to orders, training with addresses, linking enrollment with recruitment and use. Develop diverse forms of training, such as: linking training with mentoring at enterprises, production - business and service establishments; farms, vocational training.
In addition, it is necessary to conduct well the survey and forecast of labor market demand in conjunction with the strategy, planning, and socio-economic development plan of the province, each industry, each locality in conjunction with the North Central economic region and the domestic and foreign labor market.
