Nghe An Women's Union holds policy dialogue with members and women from ethnic minority groups.
(Baonghean.vn) - This dialogue aims to create opportunities for officials, members, and women from ethnic minority groups to express their thoughts, aspirations, desires, and even suggestions; it also helps women's associations at all levels better understand the realities on the ground, thereby enabling them to carry out activities and impacts more effectively and substantially for women.

On April 1st, in Quy Chau district, the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union organized a policy dialogue conference at the commune and village cluster levels in four villages, including Hoi 1, Hoi 2, Hoi 3, and Le villages (Chau Hoi commune).
Attending the dialogue were Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Hien - Standing Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union; officials from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Department of Justice, the Women's Union of Quy Chau district and Chau Hoi commune, and the District Social Policy Bank.

During the dialogue, 24 questions were raised by members, women, and citizens, focusing on issues related to marriage and family; administrative violations in the implementation of laws; poverty alleviation policies for ethnic minority areas; loan eligibility and policies for women related to labor export; support policies for malnourished women and children in difficult circumstances; policies for women living in ethnic minority areas to give birth at commune health stations; rights when participating in health insurance and procedures when going for medical examination and treatment, etc.
The questions raised were thoroughly answered and clarified by representatives from various departments and sectors of Quy Chau district, who also provided specific and clear solutions regarding the implementation of policies related to socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas in general, and policies and rights for women and children in particular.

The Provincial Women's Union and its branches at all levels will strengthen monitoring of the implementation of policies for women and children in ethnic minority areas to identify shortcomings and promptly report them to relevant agencies for resolution; at the same time, they will pay attention to supporting and creating better conditions for ethnic minority women cadres and members to improve their capacity, economic empowerment, and build happy families.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Hien, Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, said: Following the dialogue conference in Chau Hoi commune, the Provincial Women's Union will continue to organize six policy dialogues at the commune and village cluster levels in three localities. These are: Ngoc Lam commune (Thanh Chuong district); Nam Can commune (Ky Son district); and Yen Na commune (Tuong Duong district).
The conference aims to help Party committees, government agencies, relevant sectors, and the Women's Union listen to feedback from members and women; thereby developing appropriate solutions for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in general, and supporting the development of women and children in particular, thereby contributing to achieving gender equality and addressing some urgent issues for women and children.
On the same day, the Provincial Women's Union organized a communication campaign to prevent child marriage and consanguineous marriage at Hoi Nga Ethnic Boarding School, Chau Hoi commune, Quy Chau district, for more than 500 students and parents; and simultaneously launched the "Leaders of Change" Club with 30 members who are students of the school.
