"Today, NATO is providing as much assistance as possible. Without NATO's help, Ukraine would not have been able to defend itself for so long. Ukraine has very few soldiers," Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told reporters on May 9.

However, the Polish Prime Minister did not specify the number of Polish soldiers or the exact number present in Ukraine.

On Moscow's side, the official spokeswoman of the Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, called the Polish Prime Minister's statement a confirmation of a hybrid war against Russia.

Recently, Western leaders have frequently made statements about direct intervention in the conflict in Ukraine. French President Emmanuel Macron has repeatedly stated the possibility of sending French troops to Ukraine. British Prime Minister David Cameron called the Ukrainian armed forces' attacks on Russian territory with British missiles "acceptable".

Previously, the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reported that at the NATO summit in Washington in July, the alliance might adopt a statement rejecting direct intervention in the conflict in Ukraine. According to the publication, one of the key phrases in this document is: "Don't bring shoes to Ukrainian territory."

Amidst strong statements from Western politicians and destabilizing actions by NATO, the Russian General Staff has begun preparations for missile formation exercises in the Southern Military District. These drills will test the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons.
