"Today, NATO is helping as much as possible. Without NATO's help, Ukraine would not have been able to defend itself for so long. Ukraine has very few soldiers," Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told reporters on May 9.

However, the Polish Prime Minister did not specify how many Polish soldiers and their numbers are present in Ukraine.

On Moscow's side, the official spokeswoman of the Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova called the Polish Prime Minister's statement a confirmation of a hybrid war against Russia.

Western leaders have recently made frequent statements about direct intervention in the conflict in Ukraine. French President Emmanuel Macron has repeatedly stated that he would consider sending French troops to Ukraine. British Prime Minister David Cameron called the attacks by Ukrainian armed forces on Russian territory with British missiles "acceptable".

Earlier, the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reported that at the NATO summit in Washington in July, the alliance could adopt a statement rejecting direct intervention in the conflict in Ukraine. According to the publication, one of the key phrases in the document is: "No shoes on Ukrainian territory."

Amid strong statements from Western politicians and destabilizing actions by NATO, the Russian General Staff has begun preparations for missile formation exercises in the Southern Military District. These exercises will test the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons./.
