Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De directly directed the extinguishing of forest fires in Nam Dan.
(Baonghean.vn) - On April 30, a forest fire broke out in Thanh Chuong and Nam Dan districts. Upon receiving the information, Comrade Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Comrade Phung Thanh Vinh - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and leaders of the Forestry Sub-Department directly went to the scene to direct the fire extinguishing.

Accordingly, on the morning of April 30, a large fire broke out in a forest area in Tan Phong hamlet, Thanh Khai commune, Thanh Chuong district. Immediately afterwards, Thanh Chuong district authorities mobilized forces to put out the fire.
However, due to the hot weather and strong southwest winds, the fire spread to forests in Nam Thai commune and near the Mai Hac De King Temple in Nam Dan town, Nam Dan district. The fire area is a mixed forest of pine and eucalyptus.

Mr. Phung Thanh Vinh - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: The fire near the Mai Hac De Temple in Nam Dan town was extinguished at noon on April 30. Regarding the fire spreading in Nam Thai commune, Nam Dan, that night, the local government mobilized 4 local forces, including soldiers of the 414th Engineering Brigade, the Nam Dan District Special-Use Forest Management Board, forest rangers, police and fire fighting vehicles to quickly move to the scene, coordinate with local authorities and people to extinguish the forest fire.

The difficulty is that at night, forest fire fighting is dangerous, visibility is limited, the terrain is high, the wind is strong, and some fires have columns of fire tens of meters high, making it difficult for firefighters to approach.
However, with a high spirit of determination, not afraid of difficulties and dangers, as of 10:30 pm on April 30, the forces had basically controlled the forest fire.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De directed the scene and promptly commended the forces, authorities of Nam Dan and Thanh Chuong districts and the people who worked hard under the harsh weather to save the forest and minimize the damage of the fire.
For the controlled fires, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that units continue to assign people to be on duty 24/7 to prevent the fire from breaking out again, and have plans to evacuate people in dangerous areas when necessary.
