With a heart for children, a desire to create a healthy and useful playground for children in Nghe An, to help their dreams of becoming professional football players come true, every summer is also an occasion to celebrate International Children's Day (June 1), Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21), the round ball of the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament begins to roll again in the excitement and anticipation of everyone.
After 25 seasons, from a grassroots tournament established in 1996, the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament has become an official annual tournament in Nghe An province. Considered one of the earliest youth and children's football tournaments in the country, in the past seasons, with love and heart for children, for responsibility for the province's sports movement, provincial leaders through the periods, Party committees at all levels, local authorities, units, sectors, businesses, parents, organizations and individuals passionate about youth football at the grassroots and all levels have always created the best conditions for football teams and the Organizing Committee to build increasingly large-scale and professional tournaments, with increasingly high professional quality, creating a strong spread.
Development journey of TN-ND Football Tournament
The Nghe An Newspaper Cup over the past 25 seasons has not only contributed to promoting the socialization of physical education and sports in the province, but also made a remarkable contribution to the development of professional football in Nghe An and the whole country.
The Nghe An Newspaper Youth Football Tournament has become a useful and interesting playground for children during the summer. The tournament is also a place to discover and select talents for the province's football in particular and the country in general. After 25 times of organizing the tournament, hundreds of players participating in the Nghe An Newspaper Youth Football Tournament have been selected to famous youth football training centers such as SLNA, HAGL, Viettel, PVF, Hanoi..., becoming professional players, wearing the shirts of national teams, famous football clubs at home and abroad.
Every year, many localities have organized tournaments from commune to district level to select personnel for the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth Football Tournament, creating momentum for the development of mass sports movements.
In preparation for the 2024 season,
The Organizing Committee has held meetings, received many opinions and new proposals; with the goal of making every effort to organize the tournament successfully, more and more professionally; creating a healthy and useful playground for teenagers and children, encouraging them to participate in training, on that basis discovering talents for football in the province.
In that spirit, in this 26th season, the Organizing Committee has adjusted the age of the participating teams to facilitate the selection of children into professional football training centers. Accordingly, the age of the Children's team is 10 years old and under; the age of the Youth team is 12 years old and under.
With the attention and support of localities, this year's tournament season, 21 districts, cities and towns in the whole province have football teams participating, in which, many units send both Youth and Children's teams to participate such as: Vinh City, Thanh Chuong, Do Luong, Yen Thanh, Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai Town, Quy Hop... This is a great effort of localities and parents with the motto of creating the best conditions for teenagers and children to participate in the tournament.
Accompanying the success of the seasons, the Organizing Committee and participating members and players always remember and express gratitude for the spiritual and material contributions of businesses, organizations and individuals who have trusted and supported from the very first days in socializing the funding for organizing the tournament. More preciously, even though there are times when the activities of organizations and individuals still face many difficulties and challenges... like now, the tournament for children still receives attention, support and very responsible contributions to create the best possible conditions for the success of the season.

This year, the tournament's media work continues to be promoted and upgraded. For the first time, the tournament will broadcast live matches from the group stage to the final on Nghe An Newspaper's digital platforms: Facebook, TikTok, YouTube Nghe An Newspaper...
In particular, this year, Nghe An Newspaper cooperates with FPT Telecommunications Joint Stock Company (FPT Play) - the unit considered as "Vietnam's television and digital content brand" (currently holding the broadcasting copyright of top football tournaments in Vietnam, the region and the world such as: Vietnam National Football Championship; Vietnam National First Division Football Championship; Southeast Asian Football Championship; Southeast Asian U23; AFC Champions League; AFC Cup; UEFA Champions League; UEFA Europa League; Premier League...) to broadcast live matches of Nghe An Newspaper Cup TN-ND Football Tournament from the group stage to the final on FPT Play platforms, bringing exciting and attractive matches to audiences and football fans at home and abroad.
