Over the past two years, Quy Chau district (Nghe An province) has received investment for the construction of six permanent reinforced concrete bridges, creating favorable conditions for the local socio-economic development.
Among the newly completed permanent concrete bridges put into use from 2023 to the present, the Chau Thang bridge is the largest. The bridge is a newly constructed, permanent structure made of reinforced concrete, with a total length of 179.3m, 5 spans, and a width of 7.0m. The approach roads are nearly 2km long, designed according to the technical standards of a Class V mountain road, with a roadbed width of 6.5m and an asphalt surface width of 3.5m. The total investment for the bridge and approach roads is 44 billion VND. Photo: Xuan HoangThe Chau Thang Bridge was started on October 24, 2022, and completed and put into use after 36 months. The bridge connects to National Highway 48, crossing the Hieu River to the center of Chau Thang commune. Now that the new Chau Thang bridge has been completed, local residents no longer worry about the bridge being submerged and isolated as before. However, due to the historic flood of 2023 causing landslides and damage, Quy Chau district is building a replacement bridge in Minh Chau village. The bridge, constructed as a permanent structure using reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete, is over 43 meters long and 7 meters wide. It connects to the local road in Minh Chau village and is expected to be completed and put into use in 2024.
