More than 700 Vinh University students volunteer in Summer 2024
On the morning of July 2, the Standing Committee of Vinh University Youth Union organized the Launching Ceremony of the 2024 Summer Volunteer Campaign with the theme: "Youth of Vinh University volunteering for the community".
Speaking at the launch program, representatives of Vinh University Party Committee and Vinh University Youth Union affirmed that the Summer volunteer campaign is a "big school" for young people to practice and mature.
Continuing the tradition of "The Red Flag in the Soviet Homeland" and the volunteer movement of the school's young generation, the youth volunteer movement in recent years of Vinh University's youth has achieved many good results.
This year, with the theme: "Youth of Vinh University volunteer for the community", Vinh University's Summer Volunteer Campaign attracted more than 700 volunteers to participate. Representing more than 18,000 youth union members of the school, they operated in 25 teams.
The main activities include: Supporting the exam season; supporting extremely disadvantaged communes; implementing volunteer activities at Truong Bon Relic Site, Kim Lien Relic Site; volunteering at SOS Children's Village Vinh, Hematology Center, CS1, CS2 of Vinh University. Along with that, there are international volunteer activities in Xieng Khouang province of Lao People's Democratic Republic.
The target groups are disadvantaged youth, lonely elderly people, families with difficult policies, etc.
The new point of this year's campaign is "smart" volunteering, making the most of digital transformation and applying technology to implement programs and tasks in volunteer activities; aiming to carry out long-term volunteer projects to bring practical results, solving difficult and new tasks of localities and units.

10 basic targets of Vinh University youth in the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign:
1. Organize 1,000 youth union members to participate in volunteer activities deployed by the Union and Association.
2. Support the construction and repair of at least 01 civilized youth route with the criteria of "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Civilized - Safe".
3. Plant at least 100 new trees.
4. Repair at least 3 km of rural roads.
5. Mobilize union members and youth to propose at least 50 ideas and initiatives.
6. Support digital capacity building for at least 1,000 youth and people.
7. Provide training on startup knowledge to at least 100 young people.
8. Organize at least 500 youth and children to participate in activities to support foreign language proficiency improvement and international integration.
9. Support and help at least 20 children in difficult circumstances.
10. Organize a series of group activities and summer activities for local youth to carry out volunteer activities.
