Over 700 Vinh University students participate in the 2024 Summer Volunteer Campaign.
On the morning of July 2nd, the Standing Committee of the Vinh University Youth Union organized the launching ceremony for the 2024 Summer Volunteer Campaign with the theme: "Vinh University Youth: Pioneering and Volunteering for the Community".
Speaking at the launch event, representatives from the Party Committee of Vinh University and the Youth Union of Vinh University affirmed that the Summer Volunteer Campaign is a "great school" for young people to train and grow.
Continuing the tradition of "The red flag on the Soviet homeland" and the volunteer movement of the school's young generation, the youth volunteer movement of Vinh University in recent years has achieved many positive results.
This year, with the theme "Vinh University Youth: Pioneering and Volunteering for the Community," the Vinh University Summer Volunteer Campaign attracted over 700 volunteers. Representing more than 18,000 youth union members of the university, they participated in 25 teams.
The main activities include: Supporting students during exam season; assisting particularly disadvantaged communes; carrying out volunteer activities at the Truông Bồn Historical Site and Kim Liên Historical Site; volunteering at the SOS Children's Village Vinh, the Hematology Center, and campuses 1 and 2 of Vinh University. In addition, there is international volunteer activity in Xieng Khouang province, Lao People's Democratic Republic.
The target groups include vulnerable youth, elderly people living alone, and disadvantaged families receiving government assistance.
A new feature of this year's campaign is "smart" volunteering, making the most of digital transformation and technology applications to implement programs and tasks within volunteer activities; aiming to carry out long-term volunteer projects to bring practical results and solve difficult and new problems in localities and units.

Ten key objectives for the youth of Vinh University in the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign:
1. Organize for 1,000 young people to participate in volunteer activities implemented by the Youth Union and Associations.
2. Support the construction and renovation of at least one youth-run civilized road with the criteria of "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Civilized - Safe".
3. Plant at least 100 new trees.
4. Repair at least 3 km of rural roads.
5. Encourage union members and young people to propose at least 50 ideas and initiatives.
6. Support the enhancement of digital skills for at least 1,000 young people and citizens.
7. Provide entrepreneurship training to at least 100 young people.
8. Organize activities to support the enhancement of foreign language skills and international integration for at least 500 young people.
9. Provide support and assistance to at least 20 underprivileged children.
10. Organize simultaneous group activities and summer programs for young people in the areas where volunteer activities are being implemented.
