Increase the standard level of preferential allowances for people with meritorious service.
The government has just issued Decree 77/2024/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Government Decree No. 75/2021/ND-CP stipulating the levels of allowances, subsidies and preferential regimes for people with meritorious services to the revolution, which was amended and supplemented by Decree No. 55/2023/ND-CP.

Decree No. 77/2024/ND-CP amends the standard level of allowances and preferential treatment for people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution. Accordingly, the standard level of allowances and preferential treatment for people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution will increase from VND 2,055,000 to VND 2,789,000.
The Decree also amends and supplements Clause 2, Article 6 of Decree No. 75/2021/ND-CP on health rehabilitation.
Accordingly, for intensive rehabilitation nursing care: The expenditure is 1.8 times the standard rate per person per session. The expenditure includes:
a - Food expenses during the convalescence period;
b- Essential medicines;
c- Gifts for the recipient;
d- Sightseeing;
d- Other expenses directly serving the individual during the rehabilitation period (maximum expenditure of 10% of the expenditure for concentrated health rehabilitation), including: face towels, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, photography, health counseling, rehabilitation, books and newspapers, cultural, artistic, and sports activities, and other expenses serving the rehabilitation individual.
Heroic Vietnamese mothers receive a monthly preferential allowance of 8,367,000 VND.
Decree No. 77/2024/ND-CP also replaces Appendix I, Appendix II, and Appendix III regarding the monthly allowance and preferential subsidy rates for people with meritorious services to the revolution and their relatives (Appendix I); the monthly preferential allowance rates for war invalids and those receiving benefits similar to war invalids (Appendix II); and the monthly preferential allowance rates for war invalids of type B (Appendix III).
Accordingly, the monthly preferential allowance for revolutionary activists from January 1, 1945, to the August 1945 uprising is 2,884,000 VND; for relatives of one martyr, it is 2,789,000 VND; for relatives of two martyrs, it is 5,578,000 VND; and for relatives of three or more martyrs, it is 8,367,000 VND.
Heroic Vietnamese mothers receive a monthly preferential allowance of 8,367,000 VND and a monthly preferential supplement of 2,337,000 VND.
The monthly preferential allowance for Heroes of the People's Armed Forces and Labor Heroes during the resistance war is 2,337,000 VND; for those who participated in revolutionary activities, resistance, national defense, and international duties and were captured and imprisoned by the enemy, it is 1,673,000 VND.
Decree No. 75/2021/ND-CP takes effect from July 1, 2024.
