US President Joe Biden called his performance in the debate with former President Donald Trump just a bad episode.

According to the TASS news agency (Russia) on July 6, in an interview with ABC (Washington time), US President Joe Biden called his performance in the debate with former President Donald Trump a bad episode and did not reflect his overall condition.
“It was a terrible episode that does not reflect any serious overall situation,” President Biden argued.
Mr. Biden added that he was not feeling well and even took a COVID test, as doctors were “trying to figure out what was wrong.” The test came back negative and President Biden “just had a bad cold.”
At the same time, the US leader stressed that "no one but himself is to blame" for his poor debate performance.
Earlier, Politico reported that the president's relatives blamed his aides for the US leader's failure in the televised debate.
According to The Hill on July 2, President Joe Biden admitted that he did not perform well in the debate with Mr. Donald Trump. The White House owner explained that jet lag due to continuous foreign trips was the main reason for his fatigue.
President Biden apologized to sponsors for the botched debate, but insisted it was necessary to win the November election.
The US election for a new term will take place on November 5. Incumbent President Joe Biden of the Democratic Party and Mr. Donald Trump of the Republican Party have won the official nomination as the party's presidential candidate.
