Tornado in Nam Dan district caused many houses to have their roofs blown off.
The tornado lasted less than 1 minute, causing 15 houses and barns to have their roofs blown off, dozens of meters of fences and trees to fall.
On the morning of July 16, a tornado occurred in Nam Anh commune, Nam Dan district. The tornado lasted less than 1 minute, sweeping through hamlet 8, Nam Anh commune, affecting 11 households; 15 houses and livestock barns had their roofs blown off and tiles blown off; 30 meters of walls and fences of some households collapsed and many trees were broken...


The tornado only quickly swept through an area in hamlet 8, the neighboring hamlets in Nam Anh commune were not affected.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tinh - Head of Hamlet 8 said: There were 11 households directly affected, but the most severely affected were the households: Ho Viet Dao, Nguyen Anh Tuyen, Ngo Quang Nam, Ho Viet Canh, Ho Viet Khanh, of which, Mr. Tuyen's household had the roofs of 3 houses blown off, Mr. Nam's household had 4 houses affected.

Mr. Ngo Quang Mao's house was swept away by a tornado and all the tiles fell off. The homeowner passed away about a week ago.


Immediately after the tornado, despite the rain, local people actively overcame the consequences, helping each other transport tiles, re-roofing houses, coordinating to cut down trees, and cleaning up village roads and alleys.

The Front Working Committee of Hamlet 8 as well as the Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Anh Commune organized visits and timely encouragement to the families affected by the disaster, provided working days, and called on people to unite and join hands to overcome natural disasters.
