The sinkhole on National Highway 16 continues to deepen.
By noon today, July 18th, the subsidence point on National Highway 16, the section passing through Doc Chuoi, Que Phong district, had sunk more than 35cm deeper than yesterday.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son, Head of the Road Transport Department of Que Phong District, as of noon today, July 18th, the subsidence point has been cleared.National Highway 16The section of Doc Chuoi in Chau Kim commune, Que Phong district, has continued to sink by more than 35cm compared to yesterday afternoon, July 17th. Thus, the depth of this sinkhole has now decreased to nearly 2.4 meters.

"Currently, moderate to heavy rain continues in Que Phong district, making the subsidence situation at Doc Chuoi even more complicated and causing traffic on National Highway 16 to become even more difficult."
"Currently, only trucks with a load capacity of 1 ton or less are allowed to pass through this temporary road. Absolutely no trucks with a load capacity exceeding 1 ton are permitted to use this road to prevent subsidence, damage to the temporary road, and traffic congestion," Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son shared.

According to the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Que Phong district, there are currently 6 construction projects underway in the northwestern cluster of communes in the district, in addition to many other projects where the communes are the investors, which are currently in the construction phase.
The recent subsidence of National Highway 16 at Doc Chuoi, Chau Kim commune, has affected the construction progress of projects in the northwestern cluster of Que Phong communes: Tri Le, Chau Thon, Nam Nhoong, Quang Phong, and Cam Muon.

Due to the ban on cargo vehicles passing through the subsidence section of National Highway 16, specifically the Dốc Chuối section in Châu Kim commune, many construction projects have had to temporarily halt or operate at a reduced capacity due to a shortage of materials.
Mr. Bui Van Hien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Que Phong district, said that it is still raining in the district, so the district has assigned functional forces to be on duty 24/7 at the subsidence site to promptly handle any incidents that may occur, and at the same time, strictly prohibits large- грузовые vehicles from using the temporary road.
