Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son - Head of the Road Traffic Department of Que Phong district said that by noon today, July 18, the subsidence point onHighway 16, Doc Chuoi section, Chau Kim commune, Que Phong district continued to sink 35cm deeper than yesterday afternoon, July 17. Thus, the depth of this subsidence point has decreased by nearly 2.4 meters.

"Currently, the weather in Que Phong district continues to have moderate to heavy rain, making the subsidence situation at Doc Chuoi point more and more complicated, making the traffic on National Highway 16 even more difficult.

Currently, only trucks with a load capacity of 1 ton or less are allowed to pass through the temporary road. Absolutely do not allow trucks with a load capacity of over 1 ton to carry goods through here, to prevent subsidence, damage to the temporary road, causing traffic congestion," Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son shared.

According to the Management Board of Construction Investment Projects of Que Phong district, at this time, in the area of ​​the Northwest cluster communes of the district, there are 6 construction projects, in addition, many projects invested by the commune are under construction.

The subsidence incident on National Highway 16 at Doc Chuoi, Chau Kim commune in the past few days has affected the construction progress of works and projects in the communes of the Northwest Que Phong cluster: Tri Le, Chau Thon, Nam Nhoong, Quang Phong, Cam Muon.

Due to the ban on trucks carrying goods passing through the subsidence point on Highway 16, Doc Chuoi section, Chau Kim commune, many construction works and projects have had to temporarily stop construction, or work at a slow pace, due to lack of materials.

Mr. Bui Van Hien - Vice Chairman of Que Phong District People's Committee said that currently, it is still raining in the district, so the district has assigned functional forces to be on duty 24/7 at the subsidence point to promptly handle any incidents, and at the same time, strictly prohibit heavy-duty vehicles from passing through the temporary road./.
