Dedicated grassroots trade union 'leaders'
Recently, the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor Unions honored 95 outstanding grassroots trade union officials in 2024. Among them, many are young officials who have recently joined the movement, but are very enthusiastic, dedicated to the movement, and have made many initiatives and contributions to trade union activities.

At the awards ceremony, the Nghe An Education sector had 4 grassroots trade union officials honored and receiving Certificates of Commendation from the Provincial Federation of Labor. Teacher Nguyen Van Tien - Chairman of the Trade Union of Do Luong 1 High School - was one of them.
At Do Luong 1 High School, Mr. Nguyen Van Tien is an excellent teacher, trusted by the school's administration and respected by his colleagues. He is currently assigned to teach Physics to 5 classes (including grades 10 and 11); and guides students in participating in the provincial science and technology competition. In the 2023-2024 school year, under Mr. Tien's guidance, two students won second prize in the provincial science and technology innovation competition. Mr. Tien himself was the top-ranked teacher in the provincial-level excellent teacher competition in 2023; he has one provincial-level innovative teaching experience in Physics and one B-level innovative teaching experience in the field of trade union work.
It is known that Mr. Nguyen Van Tien began serving as the Chairman of the Trade Union of Do Luong 1 High School in 2017. Over the years, Mr. Tien has strived to build a strong and united organization through practical activities and approaches focused on union members, such as: arranging the most efficient timetable to facilitate teachers' work; listening to the thoughts and aspirations of union members to promptly advise and propose solutions to the Party branch and the school's management board; meeting with, encouraging, and giving gifts to union members on holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year); organizing recreational activities to improve the spiritual life and competitive movements, thereby developing the strengths and talents of each union member.
During the past school year, Do Luong 1 High School was selected by the Education Sector Trade Union and the Department of Education and Training to host the "Tet Reunion - Spring Sharing" program; and was chosen by the Vietnam Education Trade Union as the venue for the dialogue conference between the "Vietnam Education Trade Union and school staff". At the end of the 2023-2024 school year, the school's Trade Union ranked first in the cluster and was recommended by the Education Sector Trade Union to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for a Certificate of Merit.
Teacher Nguyen Van Tien stated: "The role of the trade union has been enhanced, professional quality has improved, all teachers are dedicated to their profession and their students, and have a high sense of responsibility in scientific research. In the 2023-2024 school year, the school had 22 innovative teaching methods that achieved industry-level recognition, including 6 Category A and 16 Category B."
Ensuring workers' rights are well protected.
Like teacher Nguyen Van Tien, Phan Dinh Tai, Chairman of the Trade Union of Minh Anh Kim Lien Garment Joint Stock Company, is a highly dedicated, creative, and responsible individual committed to the organization, the unit, and its members. Having served as Chairman of the unit's Trade Union since 2023, Mr. Tai, along with the company's Trade Union Executive Committee, has actively promoted and encouraged employees to join the grassroots trade union (the company has over 1,500 employees, and to date, 100% are members of the trade union); ensuring that the trade union executive committee operates independently and transparently.
During his tenure, Mr. Tai and the members of the trade union executive committee fully updated the regulations, policies, and legal provisions related to the rights and benefits of employees; ensured maximum protection of the rights of union members and employees in the company; represented employees in all meetings with the company's leadership related to the interests and rights of employees; and participated in dialogues with employees regarding changes to the salary scale…
In 2023-2024, the Trade Union of Minh Anh Kim Lien Garment Joint Stock Company successfully coordinated with the company to organize many meaningful movements, programs, and activities, such as: the "Trade Union Shelter" program; "Trade Union Meal"; "Tet Reunion - Spring Sharing" program, giving gifts to workers in difficult circumstances; "Cooling Down the Summer"; Voluntary Blood Donation...
