Proud of 94 years of the Propaganda Department!
Over the past 94 years, under the glorious banner of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great President Ho Chi Minh, the Propaganda Department has clearly demonstrated its role of "leading the way, accompanying in implementation, and summarizing afterwards," making outstanding contributions and achieving remarkable growth through various periods, and making significant contributions to the struggle for independence, unification, and national construction.

Ninety-four years ago, on August 1, 1930, to commemorate the International Day of Struggle Against Imperialist War and for Peace, the Propaganda and Agitation Committee published a document titled "International Red Day, August 1st." This is the only and earliest document still preserved today that clearly states "Published by the Propaganda and Agitation Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam." Immediately after its release, the document created a great impact, strongly encouraging the revolutionary masses in our country to rise up and fight against imperialism, oppression, exploitation, and aggression, and to support the national liberation movement. Since then, August 1st has become a historical milestone, marking a very significant activity for the Party's propaganda work.
Appreciating this historically significant event, in 2000, the Politburo (8th term) decided to designate August 1st as the annual Traditional Day of the Party's Ideological and Cultural Work. In 2007, after the merger of the Central Ideological and Cultural Committee and the Central Science and Education Committee into the Central Propaganda Committee, the Central Secretariat of the Party (10th term) decided to designate August 1st as the annual Traditional Day of the Party's Propaganda Sector.
Over 94 years of construction, growth, and development (August 1, 1930 - August 1, 2024), despite changes in name, structure, organization, and personnel in the field of Propaganda and Ideology to suit each historical period, the Propaganda and Ideology sector and its work have become an inseparable part, deeply connected to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, contributing to building the political foundation of the regime, the spiritual foundation of society, and formulating the correct system of theoretical viewpoints, platforms, and leadership guidelines of the Party for the Vietnamese revolutionary cause. With its role of "leading the way, accompanying implementation, and summarizing afterwards," over the past 94 years, Propaganda and Ideology has become a source of pride for the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army as it continues to assume a pioneering role on the ideological and cultural front of the Party, contributing to firmly protecting, supplementing, applying, and creatively developing Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought; To create unity in awareness and action within the Party and society, to consolidate and strengthen the people's trust in the Party and the State, and to awaken the will and aspiration for a prosperous and happy national development.

The immense contributions of the Propaganda Department and its work to the Party's revolutionary cause have, to some extent, affirmed that the great victories achieved by the Party and the Vietnamese people in the struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as in the cause of renovation, construction, development, and protection of the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland, all owe a great deal to the contributions of the Party's Propaganda Department and its work. The achievements painstakingly built by previous generations over the past 94 years serve as a driving force for today's Propaganda cadres to continue moving forward, writing further glorious chapters in the history of the Department and its work in the new era, and constantly striving to become steadfast fighters on the Party's ideological and propaganda front, united, creative, and wholeheartedly dedicated to serving the Fatherland and the people.
Despite numerous difficulties and challenges, especially in the context of the complex and unpredictable developments in the world and the region, in order to fulfill the important responsibilities entrusted by the Party and the people, throughout the years, those working in propaganda and ideological work, as well as the "branches" within the propaganda sector, have always remained steadfast in their goals and ideals, deeply imbued with their mission, constantly innovating and creating to successfully complete all assigned tasks.

For the past 94 years, the Party's Propaganda Department has actively and proactively provided timely and effective advice to the Central Committee, and directly and regularly to the Politburo and Secretariat throughout various periods, on Party building in terms of politics, ideology, and ethics; and on the Party's policies and guidelines in the field of propaganda. Over nearly 40 years of implementing the reform policy, the Propaganda Department has contributed to gradually perfecting the theory of socialism, the path to socialism, and the country's reform process; shaping, guiding, and identifying contradictions, inadequacies, driving forces, aspirations for development, and relationships in each stage of the revolution; perfecting the model of the political system; and developing new theoretical thinking in the fields of economics, culture, society, national defense, security, and foreign affairs in accordance with the requirements of reality. The Propaganda Department has effectively fulfilled its important role in disseminating, protecting, applying, and creatively developing Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations; actively and effectively participating in the building and rectification of a clean and strong Party and political system, enhancing the Party's capacity and fighting strength; encouraging the entire Party and people to successfully implement the cause of reform, accelerate industrialization and modernization, and integrate into the international community, striving to make Vietnam a developed, high-income country with a socialist orientation by the middle of the 21st century.
The 94th anniversary of the Propaganda Department's Traditional Day is an opportunity for us to review and promote the glorious historical traditions of the Propaganda Department; to further cultivate pride in the great and historically significant contributions of the Propaganda Department to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation; and to consolidate and strengthen faith in the ideals and ideological foundations of the Party. This is also an opportunity for cadres of the Propaganda Department and a large number of cadres and soldiers working in the field of Propaganda to strive for excellence in their assigned tasks, contributing to the successful implementation of the national industrialization and modernization process and international integration, for the goal of a prosperous people, a strong nation, democracy, fairness, and civilization.
