Proud of 94 years of Propaganda!

94 years ago, on August 1, 1930, on the occasion of the International Day of the Struggle Against Imperialist War and for the Protection of Peace, the Propaganda and Agitation Committee published a document entitled “International Red Day August 1”. This is the only and earliest document still preserved to this day that clearly states “Published by the Propaganda and Agitation Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam”. Immediately after its release, the document created a great resonance, strongly encouraging the revolutionary masses of our country to rise up to fight against imperialism, oppression, exploitation, oppose the war of aggression, and support the national liberation movement. Since then, August 1 has become a historical milestone, marking a very meaningful activity for the Party's propaganda work.

Appreciating this historical event of special significance, in 2000, the Politburo (VIII tenure) decided to take August 1 every year as the traditional day of the Party's ideological and cultural work. In 2007, after merging the Central Ideological and Cultural Committee and the Central Science and Education Committee into the Central Propaganda Committee, the Central Party Secretariat (X tenure) decided to take August 1 every year as the traditional day of the Party's Propaganda sector.

Over 94 years of construction, growth and development (August 1, 1930 - August 1, 2024), although the name, structure, organization and staff of Propaganda workers have changed in accordance with each historical period, the Propaganda sector and Propaganda work have become an inseparable part, always closely associated with the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, contributing to building the political foundation of the regime, the spiritual foundation of society, planning the system of theoretical viewpoints, platforms, and correct leadership lines of the Party for the Vietnamese revolutionary cause. With the role of "going ahead to pave the way, accompanying the implementation, following the summary", over the past 94 years, Propaganda has become the pride of the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army when continuing to assume the pioneering role on the ideological and cultural front of the Party, contributing to firmly protecting, supplementing, applying, and creatively developing Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought; create unity of perception and action within the Party and society, consolidate and strengthen people's trust in the Party and State, arouse the will and aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.

The great contributions of the Propaganda sector and Propaganda work in the Party's revolutionary cause have partly affirmed that the great victories that our Party and People have achieved in the cause of national liberation, national unification as well as in the cause of innovation, construction, development and protection of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam all have great contributions of the Propaganda sector and Propaganda work of the Party. The achievements that generations of fathers and brothers have worked hard to build over the past 94 years have always been the driving force for today's Propaganda cadres to continue to move forward, continue to write glorious pages of history of the Sector and the Committee in the new period and constantly strive to become steadfast soldiers on the ideological and propaganda front of the Party, united, creative, wholeheartedly serving the Fatherland and the People.

Despite many difficulties and challenges, especially in the context of the world and regional situation that continues to have complex and unpredictable developments, in order to fulfill the responsibility entrusted to them by the Party and the People, over the past years, those working in Propaganda as well as the "arms" of the Propaganda sector have always been steadfast in their goals and ideals and deeply imbued with their mission, constantly innovating and creating to successfully complete all assigned tasks.

Over the past 94 years, the Party's Propaganda work has actively and proactively provided timely and effective advice to the Central Executive Committee, directly and regularly to the Politburo and the Secretariat through the periods on Party building work in terms of politics, ideology, and ethics; on the Party's policies and guidelines in the fields of Propaganda. Over nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation policy, Propaganda work has contributed to gradually perfecting the theory of socialism, the path to socialism, and the country's renovation; shaping, orienting, and identifying contradictions, inadequacies, driving forces, development aspirations, and relationships in each revolutionary stage; perfecting the political system model; developing new theoretical thinking in the fields of economics, culture, society, national defense, security, and foreign affairs in accordance with practical requirements. Propaganda work has played an important role in propagating, protecting, applying and creatively developing Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; actively and effectively participating in the work of building and rectifying the Party and a clean and strong political system, improving the Party's capacity and fighting strength; encouraging the entire Party and people to successfully carry out the cause of innovation, promote industrialization, modernization, international integration, and strive to make our country a developed country with high income, following the socialist orientation by the middle of the 21st century.

The 94th anniversary of the Propaganda Sector's Traditional Day is an opportunity for us to review and promote the glorious historical tradition of the Propaganda Sector; to further develop our pride in the great and historically significant contributions of the Propaganda Sector to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation; to consolidate and strengthen our belief in the Party's ideal goals and ideological foundation. This is also an opportunity for the Propaganda Sector's cadres and the majority of cadres and soldiers working in the Propaganda Sector to strive to train and excellently complete their assigned tasks, contributing to the successful implementation of the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country and international integration, for the goal of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization.
