The Russian Ministry of Defense has released a promotional video encouraging citizens to enlist in the military, emphasizing the unity of different ethnic groups and sects in fighting a common enemy.

According to RT, the 90-second video, which depicts several battlefield scenes, is accompanied by a message from the Russian Ministry of Defense calling on citizens to enlist in the military.

Russia announced a partial mobilization in the fall of 2022, summoning around 300,000 reserve troops to defend a 2,000-kilometer front line with Ukraine. However, officials in Moscow have since opposed new recruitment efforts, saying that manpower needs are being met by a steady stream of patriotic volunteers.

The country's Ministry of Defence said last month that around 190,000 contract soldiers would join the military in 2024 alone, estimating that about 1,000 would sign contracts each day. Last December, the ministry put the total at 640,000 contract soldiers.
