Car accessories that you should not install in your car
Car accessories help drivers drive more easily, more comfortably or simply create a more enjoyable feeling. However, not all of them bring benefits but on the contrary, they pose a potential danger to the people in the car.
Here are three types of car accessories that you need to consider having inside your car.
Steering wheel cover
Steering wheel covers seem to be a good idea for older cars or cars with plastic steering wheels and small, thin designs. However, some car models when using steering wheel covers will make the steering wheel size too thick. This makes the driver's steering ability less effective or inconvenient when controlling.

Even after a period of use, the steering wheel cover can loosen, causing it to no longer hug the steering wheel, leading to a situation where it rotates freely around the steering wheel.
If the steering wheel cover is not used properly, it can easily damage the steering wheel of the car. There have been many cases of steering wheel covers for a long time and not opened for cleaning, causing the original steering wheel to become moldy, seriously degrading the surface.
Floor mats
Floor mats are car accessories that many car owners install because they not only help increase the aesthetics of the interior space but also make it easy to clean when needed. However, if the floor mats are installed too thick, combined with not installing them carefully and using them properly, it can lead to the risk of stuck accelerator pedals, sudden acceleration causing the car to lose control.

In Vietnam, there have been no incidents related to installing floor mats that are too large causing car accidents. However, in the US, the Japanese car company had to recall more than 3.8 million cars in 2009 because the floor mats obstructed the accelerator pedal, causing the car to accelerate out of control, killing 4 people.
Therefore, if users still use car floor mats, use them in other positions. As for the driver's position, users should use the car mat set or the mat set designed specifically for the driver. Remember to choose the right size floor mats, not too bulky and must be fixed.
Accessories that obscure the driver's view or cover the airbag
For many people, the car is not only a means of transport but also a second home. They beautify the interior space with many accessories and decorations. However, car accessories such as phone holders, rhinestones on the steering wheel... when placed in front of the driver can completely distract the driver or worse, cause safety problems.

In some countries, it is illegal to install car accessories in the driver's line of sight, so if you want to use your phone's infotainment and navigation system, the best way is to connect your phone to the car's entertainment screen.
In this way, users can avoid having to use car accessories such as phone holders, thereby reducing interaction with the phone and focusing more on driving.
