Focus on harvesting the summer-autumn rice crop quickly and efficiently, avoiding natural disasters.

"Taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, focus on quickly harvesting the summer-autumn rice crop with the motto 'Better to harvest while it's still green than to let it rot in the field,' and accelerate the progress of winter crop production," was the directive of the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee when inspecting agricultural production in Quynh Luu and Dien Chau districts.

On the afternoon of August 14th, Mr. Nguyen Van De, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, inspected agricultural production in Quynh Luu and Dien Chau districts. He was accompanied by Mr. Phung Thanh Vinh, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

In Quynh Luu district, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De inspected the model of high-quality TBR97 rice production linkage in Quynh Hau commune, where the harvested product will be purchased by a business; he also inspected a model of safe vegetable production according to VietGAP standards on an area of 10 hectares in Quynh Luong commune. Overall, the summer-autumn rice crop in Quynh Luu is growing well and will begin to be harvested in about 7 days.

In Dien Chau district, Comrade Nguyen Van De and the delegation inspected the production and harvesting of the summer-autumn rice crop in Dien Tan commune. This year, Dien Chau district planted 5,200 hectares of rice, and so far, more than 3,500 hectares have been harvested. It is expected that the entire district will complete the harvest before August 25th, with an estimated yield of 57-58 quintals/hectare.

Inspecting crop restructuring models on rice land in Dien Loc commune, the progress of winter crop production, and intensive shrimp farming models in Dien Trung commune, Comrade Nguyen Van De highly appreciated Dien Chau's dynamism in developing high-value, commercial agricultural production.

After inspecting the area, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De directed: Local authorities need to mobilize maximum manpower and machinery, take advantage of favorable weather conditions, and focus on quickly and efficiently harvesting the ripe summer-autumn rice crop.

In particular, special attention should be paid to post-harvest preservation in the current unpredictable weather conditions of rain and sunshine. The principle of "better to harvest early than late" should be effectively implemented with the goal of safe and efficient production.

At the same time, ensure a good supply of quality seeds and materials for winter crop production. Localities should base their crop selection on specific conditions and soil types to ensure suitability and efficiency; develop, expand, and replicate modern production models, and apply advanced science and technology in production.

"In particular, attention must be paid to strengthening linkages with units and businesses in the production and procurement of agricultural products during the winter crop season to bring high value to this important production season," the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed.
