Focus on quickly harvesting summer-autumn rice, avoiding natural disasters
“Taking advantage of favorable weather, focusing on quickly harvesting summer-autumn rice with the motto “Green house is better than old field”, speeding up the progress of winter crop production” is the direction of the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee when inspecting agricultural production in Quynh Luu and Dien Chau districts.
On the afternoon of August 14, Mr. Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected agricultural production in Quynh Luu and Dien Chau districts. Accompanying him was Mr. Phung Thanh Vinh - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
In Quynh Luu district, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De inspected the model of linking production of high-quality TBR97 rice in Quynh Hau commune. After harvesting, the products will be consumed by the enterprise; inspected the model of safe vegetable production according to VietGAP process with an area of 10 hectares in Quynh Luong commune. In general, Quynh Luu's Summer-Autumn rice is growing well, and will start to be harvested in about 7 days.

In Dien Chau district, comrade Nguyen Van De and the working delegation inspected the production and harvest of summer-autumn rice in Dien Tan commune. This summer-autumn crop, Dien Chau district planted 5,200 hectares of rice, and has so far harvested more than 3,500 hectares. It is expected that the whole district will complete harvesting before August 25, with an estimated yield of 57-58 quintals/ha.
Inspecting the models of crop structure conversion on rice land in Dien Loc commune, the progress of winter crop production and intensive shrimp farming model in Dien Trung commune, comrade Nguyen Van De highly appreciated Dien Chau's dynamism in developing high-value commodity agricultural production.

After the inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De directed: Localities need to mobilize maximum human resources and machinery, take advantage of favorable weather, and focus on quickly harvesting ripe summer-autumn rice.

In particular, special attention should be paid to post-harvest preservation in the current erratic weather conditions. Implement the motto "Green at home is better than old in the field" with the goal of safe and effective production.
At the same time, well prepare the source of seeds and materials to ensure quality for winter crop production. Localities base on specific conditions and each specific land to arrange suitable and effective crops; build, develop and replicate modern production models, apply advanced science and technology in production.

"In particular, we must pay attention to promoting links with units and businesses in the production and consumption of agricultural products in the winter crop to bring high value to this important production season," the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed.
