Nghe An province recognizes 8 more communes as meeting the standards for new rural areas and advanced new rural areas.
The People's Committee of Nghe An province has assessed and recognized one more commune as meeting the standards of a new rural area and seven communes as meeting the standards of an advanced new rural area in 2023-2024.
On the afternoon of August 21st, under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting of the Appraisal Council to review and approve the recognition of communes meeting the standards of new rural areas. The meeting discussed and voted on the recognition of new rural areas and advanced new rural areas for 8 communes in Que Phong and Nghi Loc districts.
Accordingly, in this round of evaluation and voting, one commune was deemed to meet the standards of a new rural area: Muong Ngoc (Que Phong); and seven communes were deemed to have achieved advanced new rural area status: Nghi Lam, Nghi Thach, Nghi Van, Nghi Hoa, Nghi Truong, Nghi Thinh, and Nghi Thai (Nghi Loc).

According to reports from the People's Committees of the communes, verifications by the People's Committees of Que Phong and Nghi Loc districts, and the assessment results of the Department of Planning and Investment for the 8 communes, there are no outstanding debts for basic construction in the new rural development and advanced new rural development programs.
After members of the New Rural Development Assessment Council contributed their opinions and discussed, a vote was held to approve Muong Ngoc commune (Que Phong district) as meeting the new rural development standards in 2023 and seven communes in Nghi Loc district as meeting the advanced new rural development standards in 2024.
Comrade Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - requested that the districts focus on leading, directing, guiding, and assisting the communes in implementing the criteria and completing the relevant documents.
Prioritize the allocation of resources, focusing on completing key unfinished projects, and absolutely avoid accumulating debt in rural development construction at the district and commune levels.
The communes continue to improve and enhance the achieved criteria in a synchronized, sustainable, and comprehensive manner. They are completing the documentation proving the results of building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas. They are implementing the roadmap for criteria that are not yet sustainable, in accordance with commitments and recommendations made by members of the Provincial Appraisal Team during the appraisal process.
Local authorities view the construction of new rural areas as a regular and continuous task; they prioritize economic development to improve the material and spiritual lives of farmers; and they avoid over-burdening the people.
Thus, to date, Nghe An province has 320 communes that have met the standards for new rural areas, including 101 communes that have met the standards for advanced new rural areas and 16 communes that have met the standards for model new rural areas.
