On the evening of August 22, Hanoi Police Club had its opening match in the 2024/25 Southeast Asian Club Championship, against Buriram United. This is considered a very strong opponent, as this team was the champion of the Thai League last season.

Buriram United is the dominant force in Thai football with 3 consecutive championships. In their first participation in the regional competition, this team is determined to win the championship title to add to the team's collection of achievements.

Visiting Hang Day, the Thai representative will not have the service of captain Theerathon Bunmathan. However, the Thai representative is still highly appreciated in terms of force, when having in hand high-class players such as the striker pair Crispim and Bissoli, along with the Thai national team duo Phitiwat and Supachai.

The police team has recruited a series of stars such as Jason Quang Vinh, Dinh Trong, Dinh Bac, Hugo Gomes, Leo Artur, Vitao and Alan. These new recruits will combine with other quality veterans such as Quang Hai and Viet Anh.

Entering the match, the home team Cong An Ha Noi started the game better, coach Polking's students launched open attacks on the flanks.
