Since the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) came into effect four years ago, Vietnam's exports to the EU have reached nearly US$170 billion, up 50%.

Agricultural products, especially rice, are one of the main export products, with an annual growth rate of 15%.

Thanks to EVFTA, rice exports to the EU in 2023 increased by 10%, reaching 104,000 tons and 71.7 million USD.

Vietnam has exceeded its rice export quota to the EU of 80,000 tons/year, exporting to 26 of the 27 EU member states. In the first quarter of this year, rice exports to the EU increased by nearly 118%, with 46,000 tons and 41.4 million USD.

Although the EU is not the largest market for Vietnamese rice, they are willing to pay high prices for quality products, such as ST25 rice, which is popular in many member countries.
