Nghe An Provincial Police have established a special task force to handle violations related to alcohol levels while driving.

The Nghe An Provincial Police have established a special task force, along with traffic police forces throughout the province, to simultaneously conduct patrols, inspections, and handle cases of drunk driving.

This content aims to implement Prime Minister's Directive No. 81/CĐ-TTg dated August 20, 2024, on ensuring traffic safety during the National Day holiday on September 2nd and the peak month for traffic safety for students going to school.

From 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM on August 24, 2024, at the traffic checkpoint on Le Nin Street in Vinh City, hundreds of cars and motorbikes were stopped for inspection by a special task force of the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police.

During the inspection, the special task force temporarily seized 10 motorcycles. Most of the owners of these vehicles were found to have violated regulations regarding blood alcohol levels.

Instead of complying with the order to stop and be inspected, some drivers accelerated, swerved, and made U-turns to escape the checkpoint.

However, just a few minutes later, those who tried to flee were intercepted by traffic police, who then checked and dealt with them.

In just one night on the first day of the operation, the Special Task Force and the Traffic Police of Vinh City Police Department issued citations to 13 individuals for drunk driving and temporarily seized 13 motorcycles.
