During the National Day holiday on September 2, medical units in Nghe An have fully arranged a 24/7 emergency system to ensure treatment and emergency care for patients.

Ensuring medical work during the National Day holiday on September 2 (4 days, from August 31 to September 3, 2024), on August 29, 2024, Nghe An Department of Health issued Official Dispatch No. 2864 / SYT-NVY on ensuring medical work during the National Day holiday and the new school year opening to medical units inside and outside the public sector.

Accordingly, the Department of Health requires units to arrange reasonable holidays; assign cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers to be on duty 24/7 during the holidays to handle work, well serve the health care needs of the people; develop a plan to coordinate with the police and related forces in the area to ensure security and order, traffic safety, crime prevention and fire prevention at the unit.

Medical examination and treatment facilities should develop a plan to ensure a 24/7 emergency response system. In addition to the main on-duty team, each unit should arrange a backup on-duty team that can be mobilized when needed.

Organize emergency care, medical examination and treatment well, stockpile enough medicine, blood, infusion fluid and necessary means and equipment for emergency care, medical examination and treatment; develop plans to deal with epidemics, poisonings, and mass emergency accidents that may occur during the National Day holiday on September 2, 2024 and during the opening of the 2024-2025 school year.

The Department of Health also requested the Nghe An Provincial Food Safety Department to strengthen food hygiene and safety, paying special attention to places where products are processed and produced for the National Day holiday on September 2, 2024 and during the opening ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year and places with collective kitchens (industrial parks, export processing zones, etc.); resolutely handle establishments that violate food hygiene and safety according to current regulations.

24/7 on-call service

The units have clearly assigned tasks and responsibilities to each department and office; thoroughly informed all cadres, civil servants and employees to strictly comply with regulations... to ensure good maintenance of medical examination, treatment and emergency care for patients during the holiday.

Doctor Nguyen Trong Hieu - Deputy Director of Vinh City General Hospital said: During the holiday, the hospital will not organize medical examinations (including medical examinations upon request) at the 2 facilities. However, the hospital will still organize 24/24 hour emergency work in departments (clinical, paraclinical) and related rooms to receive and treat patients in emergency situations.

To ensure regular operations and patient treatment, the hospital requires departments to review and assign on-duty personnel to 4 levels; ensure that personnel have sufficient capacity, expertise, and experience to handle emergencies, inpatient treatment, and professional work; absolutely do not assign on-duty professional personnel who do not meet job requirements. The hospital strictly prohibits staff from leaving their positions in any form.

As for the Nephrology - Dialysis Department, detailed and specific work shifts are arranged to ensure safety in dialysis for patients, especially during holidays. Inpatient departments ensure facilities, equipment, medicines, medical supplies, chemicals, patient rooms... to serve the monitoring, care and treatment of patients.

Doctor Trinh Xuan Nam - Deputy Director of Nghe An General Hospital also said: In addition to assigning centers and departments to perform the best professional work, the hospital has also requested departments and units to ensure essential conditions for inpatient treatment. The hospital has instructed the in-hospital and out-hospital emergency teams to prepare vehicles, equipment, medicines, etc. to transport and provide emergency care to patients when required./.
