Vinh City Party Secretary inspects flood and storm prevention at key locations
On September 4, Comrade Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee, together with leaders of the City People's Committee and related departments inspected the actual work of flood and storm prevention at some key locations.
In order to proactively respond to the complicated situation and developments of storm No. 3 - Yagi, the working delegation of Vinh city led by Secretary of the City Party Committee Phan Duc Dong inspected the actual situation at the C2 and D2 buildings of Quang Trung apartment building, the area where landslides often occur at Quyet mountain, Trung Do ward, Hoa Lam residential area, Hung Hoa commune.
At the destinations, Secretary of the City Party Committee Phan Duc Dong listened to people's reports on the current situation of key locations and potential risks of unsafety during storms. He listened to the authorities of the wards and communes quickly report on storm prevention plans and urgent evacuation of households from dangerous areas when there are heavy storms.
After the inspection, the Vinh City Party Secretary requested the Quang Trung Ward Party Committee and authorities to urgently deploy tasks to respond to the risk of collapse of old apartment buildings, and organize a meeting with residents to deploy an emergency evacuation plan if storms hit Vinh.
In the Quyet mountain area, Trung Do ward authorities need to implement plans to evacuate people, require households living in dangerous areas to proactively evacuate and implement safety measures for people, especially 17 households at high risk.
For Hoa Lam hamlet, Hung Hoa commune, in addition to implementing the flood prevention plan and urgently evacuating residents from dangerous areas, the Hung Hoa commune Party Committee and government need to soon hold a meeting with households to relocate to the resettlement project inside the Ta Lam dike.
At the same time, comrade Phan Duc Dong requested the Vinh City People's Committee to urgently deploy and review plans to ensure the safety of people's lives and property. Relevant departments need to coordinate well with wards and communes to deploy plans and arrange forces to carry out necessary tasks when heavy rain and storms hit Vinh City.
Wards, communes and related departments need to organize meetings with people to quickly deploy plans and strategies for implementing resettlement projects to ensure people have safer living conditions when storms come.
