Coach Valery Karpin affirmed that the Russian team's goal is to win against the Vietnamese team in their opening match of the 2024 International Friendly Tournament.

On the evening of September 4th, the Russian national team held a training session to familiarize themselves with My Dinh Stadium before their opening match against the Vietnamese national team in the international friendly tournament.

Speaking to the media before training, Russia's coach Valery Karpin said: "Our goal is obviously to win. Our opponents probably want the same. We are taking this match very seriously. We struggle because we don't get many opportunities to play. So when we have an opponent to play against, we take it very seriously, and the whole team is ready to take the field."

Valery Karpin also acknowledged that the hot weather would affect the Russian players, making it difficult for them to move and play at a high intensity for 90 minutes. However, he stated that this was not the main issue. "We don't care about the weather or the pitch; we just want to focus on playing football," the Russian coach expressed.
