Quy Chau relocates 5 households due to concerns about landslides.

On the night of September 10th, heavy rain in Quy Chau district caused landslides. Local authorities evacuated five households to safe locations.

Mr. Sam Van Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chau Hanh commune, Quy Chau district, said: On the afternoon and night of September 10th, heavy and prolonged rain fell in the commune, causing landslides in Ta Lanh village. Immediately that night, commune forces promptly inspected and detected the landslide in Ta Lanh village. This area has weak soil, and there had been cracks on the mountainside beforehand, posing a high risk of serious landslides that could affect several households living below.

To ensure the safety of the residents, on the night of September 10th, the authorities of Chau Hanh commune assisted in relocating people and property for five households, including: Truong Thi Lien; Ho Thi Yen; Dao Thi Uc; Le Hai Chau and Tran Dung Cuong.

"For the time being, the residents are temporarily living in stilt houses in Ta Lanh village. This morning, the commune put up warning signs to alert people to the landslide area, and at the same time, specifically assessed the level of danger and proposed a course of action," said Mr. Sam Van Dung.
