The rice market situation today is stable, with no major price fluctuations. In Sa Dec, Dong Thap, the amount of rice purchased at market warehouses is regular, keeping prices stable.
The price of IR 504 Summer-Autumn raw rice is currently 10,600 - 10,750 VND/kg, while the price of IR 504 finished rice ranges from 12,800 - 13,000 VND/kg. The prices of other types of rice at the retail market remain unchanged from yesterday.
Nang Nhen rice has the highest price of 28,000 VND/kg.
Jasmine rice costs from 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg.
Nang Hoa rice and Huong Jasmine rice both cost 20,000 VND/kg.
Regular rice costs about 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg.
Long grain fragrant rice and Taiwanese fragrant rice cost from 20,000 - 21,000 VND/kg.

The sticky rice market has no fluctuations, keeping the same price as yesterday. Specifically, dry Long An IR 4625 sticky rice is priced from 9,800 to 9,900 VND/kg. The price of 3-month-old dry Long An sticky rice is also unchanged, from 9,800 to 10,000 VND/kg.
The price of rice by-products ranges from 6,150 to 8,800 VND/kg. Of which, broken rice by-product OM 5451 costs from 8,600 to 8,800 VND/kg.

Export rice price September 16, 2024
Vietnam's rice export prices were stable, with 100% broken rice at $452/ton, 5% standard rice at $563/ton, and 25% broken rice at $533/ton.
The 2024 summer-autumn crop in Vietnam has almost completed planting with 1.469 million hectares, reaching 99% of the plan. The recent harvest in Vietnam reached 6.2 million tons of rice from 1 million hectares. Vietnam is planting the 2024 autumn-winter crop with 546,000 hectares and the 2024 summer-autumn crop with 7,000 hectares.
Floods in northern Vietnam may affect rice production but have not yet affected rice export supplies.
Indian rice export prices fell to an eight-month low, with 5% broken parboiled variety at $528-$534 a tonne.
Indian rice buyers are delaying purchases in anticipation of lower export duties, putting pressure on export demand. The Indian government has removed the floor price for basmati rice from September 13 to support farmers and boost exports.
Prices for Thailand’s 5% broken rice have fallen sharply, hitting their lowest in more than a year, between $550 and $565 a tonne. Floods have affected Thailand’s rice output, and there are suggestions that prices need to be adjusted to be more competitive.
