Pig price today September 16, 2024: Domestic pig price is at an average of 63,900 VND/kg
Pig price in the North
Pig prices in the North did not change much at the beginning of the week. Hanoi had the highest pig price, at VND67,000/kg.
Provinces such as Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang and Vinh Phuc have a buying price of 66,000 VND/kg.
Elsewhere, pork prices remained stable, ranging from VND64,000 to VND65,000 per kilogram.
Pig price in Central Highlands region
Pig price today is stable, unchanged, with price from 62,000 to 66,000 VND/kg.
In Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak and Ninh Thuan, the purchase price is 62,000 VND/kg, this is the lowest price in the region.
On the contrary, in Thanh Hoa, the price of live pigs is the highest in the region, at 66,000 VND/kg.
Other areas have live pig prices ranging from 63,000 to 64,000 VND/kg.
Thanh Hoa province has recently experienced heavy rains, causing flooding in some areas such as Thach Thanh and Cam Thuy. Affected livestock households have been instructed on how to repair barns, clear sewers and move livestock and poultry to safe places. To prevent disease, livestock areas have been disinfected and sterilized.
The rainy season is the peak time for infectious diseases in livestock and poultry, including African swine fever and avian influenza. Thanh Hoa is conducting a major sanitation campaign to prevent disease, including vaccinating livestock.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Chuyen, a veterinary officer, emphasized the importance of regular disinfectant spraying to prevent bacteria and viruses.
Mr. Le Duc Ngoan, Vice Chairman of Quang Thanh Ward People's Committee, announced that the ward has directed agricultural and veterinary staff to support people in disinfecting and cleaning barns.
Pig price in the Southern region
Pig prices in the Southern region remained unchanged today, ranging from 62,000 to 65,000 VND/kg.
In Binh Phuoc, Tien Giang and Tra Vinh, the purchase price is 62,000 VND/kg, the lowest in the region.
On the contrary, in An Giang, Binh Duong and Ca Mau, the price of live pigs is the highest in the region, at 65,000 VND/kg.
Other provinces recorded live pig prices from 63,000 to 64,000 VND/kg.
Today, the price of live pigs in the Vietnamese market is at an average of 63,900 VND/kg.
Compared to some other countries, pork prices in Vietnam are significantly higher, almost double that of Canada, the United States, France, Russia and Brazil. However, in the Asian region, pork prices in Vietnam are lower than those in countries such as South Korea, the Philippines and China.
