Today's live pig price (September 16, 2024): The average domestic live pig price is currently 63,900 VND/kg.
Pork prices in the Northern region
Live pig prices in the North remained relatively unchanged at the beginning of the week. Hanoi had the highest live pig price, at 67,000 VND/kg.
Provinces such as Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, and Vinh Phuc have a purchase price of 66,000 VND/kg.
Elsewhere, live pig prices remained stable, fluctuating between 64,000 and 65,000 VND/kg.
Live pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions
Today's live pig prices remain stable, unchanged, ranging from 62,000 to 66,000 VND/kg.
In Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, and Ninh Thuan, the purchase price is 62,000 VND/kg, which is the lowest price in the region.
Conversely, in Thanh Hoa, the price of live pigs is the highest in the region, at 66,000 VND/kg.
In other areas, the price of live pigs ranges from 63,000 to 64,000 VND/kg.
Recently, Thanh Hoa province experienced heavy rains, causing flooding in some areas such as Thach Thanh and Cam Thuy. Affected livestock farmers have been instructed on how to repair barns, clear drainage ditches, and relocate livestock and poultry to safe areas. To prevent disease, livestock farming areas have been disinfected and sterilized.
The rainy season is the peak time for infectious diseases in livestock and poultry, including African swine fever and avian influenza. Thanh Hoa province is conducting a large-scale sanitation campaign to prevent disease outbreaks, including vaccinating livestock.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Chuyen, a veterinary officer, emphasized the importance of regular disinfection spraying to prevent bacteria and viruses.
Mr. Le Duc Ngoan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Thanh Ward, announced that the ward has directed agricultural and veterinary officials to assist residents in disinfecting and cleaning livestock pens.
Pork prices in the Southern region
Live pig prices in the southern region remained unchanged today, fluctuating between 62,000 and 65,000 VND/kg.
In Binh Phuoc, Tien Giang, and Tra Vinh provinces, the purchase price is 62,000 VND/kg, the lowest in the region.
Conversely, in An Giang, Binh Duong, and Ca Mau, live pig prices are the highest in the region, at 65,000 VND/kg.
Other provinces recorded live pig prices ranging from 63,000 to 64,000 VND/kg.
Today, the average price of live pigs in the Vietnamese market is 63,900 VND/kg.
Compared to some other countries, pork prices in Vietnam are significantly higher, almost double that of Canada, the United States, France, Russia, and Brazil. However, within the Asian region, pork prices in Vietnam are lower than those in countries like South Korea, the Philippines, and China.
