Nghe An organizes a contest to compose and compose lyrics for Nghe Tinh folk songs
This is one of the activities towards the 10th anniversary of Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs being recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (1994 - 2024).
The Department of Culture and Sports has just issued a notice of the content of the contest to compose lyrics for Nghe Tinh folk songs in 2024.
Accordingly, the contest has the theme of praising the land and people of Nghe An; historical and cultural traditions; praising leaders and celebrities; contemporary life issues of Nghe An province in the process of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland. Praising the profound values of love for the homeland, family and village affection; loyal and steadfast love between couples. Praising the traditional beauty of craft villages, production and labor activities, and the humanistic beauty in social life.

The contest is open to professional and non-professional authors in and outside the province. Each individual or group of authors can submit no more than 05 entries. The entries must be written in Vietnamese; the melody must be adapted, with new lyrics written from the folk songs Vi and Giam, typed and printed on A4 paper (clearly stating the melody or accompanying music, if any); and the demo file with the arrangement and recording must be sent to a CD or USB (if any).
The Organizing Committee encourages works with new lyrics from folk song suites (including ancient melodies and adapted melodies) using local languages with simple, rustic lyrics that exude the character and soul of the people. Nghe An land and people.
The work must ensure artistic quality and content of the contest theme; be a new work, not yet published, distributed or submitted to other contests organized by the Central and local levels.
The work must be created between September 2024 and the end of the contest on November 5, 2024. The author must be legally responsible for the copyright of his/her work according to the provisions of law; if the work is found to violate the copyright and regulations of the contest, the Organizing Committee will revoke the award and widely announce it in the media.
The Organizing Committee has the right to use the winning works for political propaganda activities. The Organizing Committee will not return the unwinning works to the authors.
The contest launch is expected to take place in September 2024. The Organizing Committee will accept entries from the launch date until November 5, 2024 (postmarks will be counted for entries sent by post). The contest summary and award ceremony is expected to take place in November 2024.
The Organizing Committee awards certificates and prizes to the winning works. The prize structure includes: 3 A prizes, 6 B prizes; 15 C prizes. The prize level is implemented according to Clause 4, Article 7,Resolution No. 11/2018/NQ-HDNDDecember 12, 2018 of the People's Council of Nghe An province.
