In Vinh City, there are currently about 50,000 trees of all kinds, of which about 50% are old trees with luxuriant branches and leaves, at risk of falling during the rainy and stormy season.
Clip: Quang AnVinh City currently has about 50,000 trees, concentrated on major roads such as Le Mao, Tran Phu, Truong Thi, Nguyen Du, Truong Chinh, Phong Dinh Cang... and central parks. Photo: Sach NguyenAlthough they have the ability to provide great shade and create beauty for the streets, these trees are easily broken and fell during the storm season because their branches and leaves are luxuriant and their canopy is wide, making it difficult to stand firm against strong winds. In the photo: a tree on Nguyen Du Street, Vinh City, was broken and fell after storm No. 2 in 2017. Photo: Quang AnTaking advantage of favorable weather after storm No. 3 passed, workers of Vinh City Green Parks Joint Stock Company were divided into small groups, spreading out to the streets to trim trees and deploy preventive measures during the rainy and stormy season. Photo: Quang AnThis year, Vinh City will carry out tree pruning early, prioritizing densely populated central streets and traffic areas, school areas; critical roads, riverside roads, roads undergoing sidewalk and underground infrastructure renovation, which could put trees at risk of instability. Photo: Quang AnAccording to the plan, in the 2024 storm season, the city will restore 2,600 trees, clear the canopy of 1,080 trees, and liquidate 107 trees on 75 streets and parks. Photo: Quang AnPriority is given to pruning trees with large diameters and heights, heavy-canopy trees, dangerously leaning trees, trees with crooked canopies, trees with overhanging branches (especially dry, wormy, rotten branches)...
