Two large rocks threaten houses in Con Cuong.
Authorities in Con Cuong town (Con Cuong district) are working to remove two large rocks that rolled down from the mountaintop, threatening nearby houses.
On the afternoon of September 20th, Mr. Mai Quang Hoi, Chairman of the People's Committee of Con Cuong town, stated that heavy rain and strong winds had occurred in the area in recent days. Several rocks rolled down from the Cua Ro mountain towards residential areas, including two large rocks, each weighing 2-3 cubic meters.3.

"Currently, the rocks are located 5 to 10 meters away from the houses in Block 7/8. In this heavy rain, there is a high risk of the rocks rolling down onto people's homes. Immediately after receiving the report, the local authorities and rescue forces used cables and wooden posts to secure the two rocks in place. After the rain stops, the authorities will break the smaller rocks into smaller pieces to move them to another location, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property," said Mr. Mai Quang Hoi.
Previously, the People's Committee of Con Cuong district directed Con Cuong town to urgently relocate residents in areas at high risk of rockslides and landslides to safe locations. At the same time, warning signs were erected in dangerous areas to alert people and vehicles passing through, and if necessary, checkpoints were set up to prevent people and vehicles from passing through until the situation was completely under control...
