Successfully thwarted a fraud plot that was supposed to embezzle nearly 1 billion VND.
On September 20th, the police, in coordination with the Agribank branch, successfully thwarted a fraud attempt involving the misappropriation of nearly 1 billion VND.
Previously, from the afternoon of September 18th to September 19th, an individual called Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngh (born in 1958, residing in Ngo Quyen commune), introducing himself as an officer from the Hanoi City Police. Over the phone, the individual claimed that Ms. Ngh was involved in a drug trafficking ring; demanded that she provide her bank account number and login password; and instructed her to transfer all her money to the account without telling anyone.

After a day of psychological manipulation, on the afternoon of September 19th, Ms. Ngh was in a state of panic. Therefore, the victim withdrew all of her savings, nearly 1 billion VND, from the community credit fund and transferred it to the bank account she had provided to the perpetrator.
Around 4 PM on the same day, family members discovered the incident, explained the situation, and then accompanied Ms. Ngh to the Ngo Quyen Commune Police Station to report the matter. Immediately after receiving the information, the Ngo Quyen Commune Police (Thanh Mien District, Hai Duong Province) contacted the Agribank branch in Hong Quang Commune to freeze the account, successfully securing nearly 1 billion VND. Currently, the Thanh Mien District Police and relevant authorities are continuing to verify and investigate the case further.
