Successfully prevented a fraud case that appropriated nearly 1 billion VND

Previously, from the afternoon of September 18 to September 19, a subject called Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngh (born in 1958, living in Ngo Quyen commune) and introduced himself as a police officer of Hanoi City. Over the phone, the subject said that Ms. Ngh was involved in a drug ring; asked the victim to provide her account number and login password; and transferred all the money she had into the account but not to tell anyone.

After a day of psychological manipulation, on the afternoon of September 19, Ms. Ngh was very panicked. Therefore, the victim withdrew all the nearly 1 billion VND that she and her family had saved at the Commune Credit Fund and transferred it to the bank account number (the account provided to the subject).

At around 4 p.m. the same day, family members discovered the incident, explained it, and then went with Ms. Ngh to Ngo Quyen Commune Police to report the incident. Immediately after receiving the information, Ngo Quyen Commune Police (Thanh Mien District, Hai Duong) discussed with Agribank Branch in Hong Quang Commune to freeze the account number, promptly retaining nearly 1 billion VND. Currently, Thanh Mien District Police and relevant agencies are continuing to verify and investigate the case.
