Khe Bo Hydropower Plant increases flood discharge rate.
The Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, and Civil Defense has just issued urgent notice No. 219 regarding increasing the water discharge rate of the Khe Bo hydroelectric reservoir (Tuong Duong).
At 6:40 PM on September 20th, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, and Civil Defense received notification No. 241 dated September 20th from the Khe Bo Hydropower Plant regarding the operation of increasing the water discharge rate from the Khe Bo Hydropower Plant reservoir to ensure the safety of the structure.
To ensure the safe regulation of water levels in the Khe Bo Hydropower Plant reservoir in accordance with the approved single-reservoir and multi-reservoir operating procedures on the Ca River basin, the Khe Bo Hydropower Plant plans to operate the reservoir water regulation as follows:
Expected time for increasing reservoir flow through the spillway: 7:00 PM, September 20th.
Discharge flow rate: Total discharge flow rate is approximately 1,500 m³.3/s up to 2,000 m3/s (discharge through the turbines and through the spillway) and may vary depending on the inflow of water into the reservoir.
Time to stop releasing water through the spillway: Until the inflow into the reservoir is less than the power generation flow through the turbines.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, and Civil Defense hereby informs the People's Committees of the districts of Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son, Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen, and Vinh City; the heads of provincial departments and agencies; and the Road Management Area II to notify all levels of government, agencies, units, investors currently constructing along and on the river, owners of water transport vehicles, and all people in the downstream area of the Khe Bo Hydropower Plant to implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of lives and property of the State and the people.
