Khe Bo Hydropower Plant increases flood discharge
The Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense has just issued urgent Notice No. 219 on increasing the water discharge flow of Khe Bo Hydropower Reservoir (Tuong Duong).
At 6:40 p.m. on September 20, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received Notice No. 241 dated September 20 from Khe Bo Hydropower Plant regarding the operation of increasing the water discharge flow of Khe Bo Hydropower Plant's reservoir to ensure the safety of the project.
To ensure the safe regulation of water in Khe Bo Hydropower Plant's reservoir in accordance with the approved Single Reservoir Procedure and Inter-reservoir Procedure on the Ca River Basin, Khe Bo Hydropower Plant plans to operate and regulate water in Khe Bo Hydropower Reservoir as follows:
Estimated time to increase reservoir flow through spillway: At 19:00, September 20.
Discharge: Total discharge from approximately 1,500 m3/s to 2,000 m3/s (discharged through the generators and through the spillway) and may vary depending on the water flow to the lake.
Time to end water discharge through spillway: Until water flow to the lake is less than power generation flow through generators.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense informs the People's Committees of the districts: Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son, Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen and Vinh city; Heads of provincial departments, branches and sectors; Road Management Area II to inform the authorities at all levels, agencies, units, investors who are constructing along the river, on the river, owners of water transport vehicles and all people in the area downstream of Khe Bo Hydropower Plant to know and deploy necessary work, ensuring the safety of life and property of the State and the people.
Previously, on September 7, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense issued Notice No. 179 on the operation and regulation of water at Khe Bo Hydropower Plant reservoir, with a total discharge flow of about 500 m3/s to 1,500 m3/S.
On September 10, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense issued Notice No. 187 on increasing the discharge flow of Khe Bo Hydropower Plant reservoir, with a total discharge flow of about 1,500 m3/s to 3,000 m3/S.
