Ban Ang Hydropower Plant (Tuong Duong) increases flood discharge

Urgent Notice No. 221 of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense stated: At 20:23 on September 20, 2024, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received Notice No. 07 dated September 20, from Nam Mo and Nam Non Hydropower Joint Stock Company on the operation of increasing the discharge flow of Ban Ang Hydropower Reservoir.
Due to the impact of storm circulation No. 4; To ensure the safe regulation of water in the Ban Ang Hydropower Plant reservoir in accordance with the approved Single Reservoir Procedure and Inter-reservoir Procedure on the Ca River Basin, Nam Mo and Nam Non Hydropower Joint Stock Company plans to operate and regulate water in the Ban Ang Hydropower Plant reservoir as follows:
Estimated time of discharge through spillway compartment: After 22:00, September 20, 2024.
Discharge: Total discharge from approximately 500 m3/s to 1,000 m3/s (including discharge through spillway gates and generator sets) and may vary depending on the water flow to the lake.
Time to end water discharge through spillway: When water flow to the lake is less than power generation flow through the generators.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense informs the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district and heads of provincial departments, branches and sectors, and Road Management Area II.
