Ban Ang Hydropower Plant (Tuong Duong) increases flood discharge.
After 10 PM tonight, September 20th, the Ban Ang hydroelectric reservoir is expected to increase the water discharge rate through the spillway.
Urgent Notice No. 221 from the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense states: At 8:23 PM on September 20, 2024, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received Notice No. 07 dated September 20, from Nam Mo and Nam Non Hydropower Joint Stock Company regarding the increased discharge of water from the Ban Ang hydropower reservoir.

Due to the influence of the circulation of typhoon No. 4; In order to ensure the safe water regulation of the Ban Ang Hydropower Plant reservoir in accordance with the approved single-reservoir and multi-reservoir operating procedures on the Ca River basin, Nam Mo and Nam Non Hydropower Joint Stock Company plans to operate the Ban Ang hydropower reservoir water regulation as follows:
Expected time for water release through the spillway: After 22:00 on September 20, 2024.
Discharge flow rate: Total discharge flow rate is approximately 500 m³.3/s up to 1,000 m3/s (including discharge through spillway gates and power generation units) and may vary depending on the inflow of water into the reservoir.
Time to stop releasing water through the spillway: When the inflow of water into the reservoir is less than the flow rate of electricity generation through the turbines.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense hereby informs the People's Committee of Tuong Duong District and the heads of provincial departments, agencies, and the Road Management Area II.
To inform authorities at all levels, agencies, units, investors constructing along and on the river, owners of water transport vehicles, and all people in the downstream area of the Ban Ang Hydropower Plant so that they can implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of lives and property of the State and the people.
