Today's live pig price (September 26, 2024): Prices fluctuated, showing mixed trends in some localities. Prices ranged from 64,000 to 70,000 VND/kg.
Pork prices in the Northern region
Recently, live pig prices in the North have shown inconsistent adjustments across provinces.
In Lao Cai, the price of live pigs increased by 1,000 VND/kg, currently standing at 69,000 VND/kg.
Conversely, live pig prices in Thai Nguyen and Hanoi decreased by 1 unit, reaching 69,000 VND/kg and 70,000 VND/kg respectively.
Currently, except for Nam Dinh which maintains the price at 68,000 VND/kg, other localities in the North are having purchase prices ranging from 69,000 to 70,000 VND/kg.
Live pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions
Live pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions have decreased slightly, currently standing at 68,000 VND/kg in Thanh Hoa, equivalent to the price in Nghe An.
The current market price for live pigs ranges from 64,000 to 68,000 VND/kg.
Pork prices in the Southern region
In the southern provinces of Kien Giang, Ben Tre, and Dong Thap, live pig prices have increased by 1,000 VND/kg. Specifically, current prices are 64,000 VND/kg in Kien Giang, 66,000 VND/kg in Ben Tre, and 67,000 VND/kg in Dong Thap.
Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Dong Thap currently have the highest live pig purchase prices in the region, at 67,000 VND/kg.
In other provinces and cities, the price of live pigs is fluctuating between 64,000 and 66,000 VND/kg.
Live pig prices nationwide saw a slight decrease today after several days of continuous increases. The northern region maintained the highest prices, while the national average price ranged from 64,000 to 70,000 VND/kg.
Although there have been slight price increases in some areas, overall, the upward trend in live pig prices has begun to slow down.
Ms. La Thi Lieu, a pork vendor at Nhan Chinh market in Hanoi, said that pork prices have risen sharply after the recent storm due to its impact on supply.
Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh from the wholesale market management board in Ha Nam reported that pig purchasing and breeding activities have been affected, reducing the supply from 1,500 to 1,100-1,200 pigs per day.
Experts explain that the increase in live pig prices is due to damage from Typhoon Yagi and flooding, which destroyed and submerged farms, as well as disrupted transportation.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced that Typhoon No. 3 and heavy rains caused the death of 26,485 livestock and nearly 3 million poultry, making restocking difficult.
Mr. Duong Tat Thang, Director of the Department of Animal Husbandry, said that the damage caused by storms and floods would not significantly affect the overall supply and consumer demand until the end of the year.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has directed businesses and industry associations to support reproduction by providing breeding stock, feed, supplies, and disease prevention support to meet food needs.
