Garbage is piled up on the Bung River dike in Dien Chau.
The indiscriminate dumping of garbage along the Bung River dike section passing through Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district, is causing serious environmental pollution, making residents in the surrounding area worried about the danger of disease outbreaks.
The Bùng River dike in Trung Hồng hamlet, Diễn Ngọc commune, Diễn Châu district, is over 700 meters long. Although there are signs prohibiting littering along the dike, people still dump waste indiscriminately, causing serious environmental pollution.
The trash is not only dumped on the embankment but also spills onto the surface, with many sections overflowing into the Bung River, causing water pollution.

In particular, this area has a designated waste collection point, but every day many residents still dump garbage directly along the Bung River dike. At times, Dien Ngoc commune has to use excavators to collect the waste, but even that is not enough.
Mr. Tran Van Tinh, a resident of Dien Ngoc commune who frequently travels through this area, said: "This landfill emits a foul odor throughout the region year-round, affecting people passing through and households living nearby."

Regarding this issue, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Ngoc commune, said: This landfill, located in Trung Hong hamlet, Dien Ngoc commune, was formed in 2014 by residents of Dien Ngoc commune.
Faced with this situation, since 2017 the commune has planned this area as a waste collection point and signed a contract worth 1.5 billion VND/year with Dien Chau Green Environment Company to collect waste. The company transports the waste every three days to the Nghi Yen Solid Waste Treatment Complex in Nghi Yen commune, Nghi Loc district.

Although the Dien Chau Green Environment Company collects waste every three days, it has not yet cleared all the remaining waste at this collection site. To address this situation, the commune will conduct inspections and supervision, requiring the Dien Chau Green Environment Company to collect the remaining waste at the collection site to minimize environmental pollution. At the same time, the commune will deploy forces to crack down on the illegal dumping of waste by residents along the Bung River dike...
