Government Standing Committee meets with business representatives
This morning (October 4), at the Government headquarters, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the Government Standing Committee met with business representatives on the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Day.

Also attending were Deputy Prime Ministers Nguyen Hoa Binh, Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long; leaders of ministries, branches and 200 typical businessmen representing economic sectors and fields, and representatives of business associations.
The meeting was not only to commend, encourage and motivate the contributions of the Vietnamese business community and entrepreneurs, but also to extend the series of activities of listening, sharing and exchanging between the Prime Minister, the Government, ministries and branches with businesses - an important driving force for sustainable development at a time when the world and domestic economies are changing towards new trends.
In recent times, the Government has issued many policies to support businesses in recovery and development and has continuously strived to improve the business investment environment.

According to data from the Department of Business Registration Management, Ministry of Planning and Investment, the number of newly established and resuming businesses in the first 8 months of 2024 was 168,076, an average of 21,000 new businesses per month.
With the current growth rate, the number of newly registered enterprises in 2024 will continue to be higher than the 159 thousand in 2023 and will be the third consecutive year to set a record for the number of newly registered enterprises. Excluding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020-2021, the number of newly established enterprises has always increased from 2015 to present. Thus, cumulatively from 2000 to the end of 2024, the number of newly established enterprises will exceed 2.1 million enterprises.
